Summary:
Prefixes and suffixes alter the meaning of a stem word. They
allow us to vary our vocabulary.
Suffixes allow us to indicate the tense of a word, as well the
type of word!
Key Words from Today’s Session…
Synonym: A word which means the same or similar to another word, but is spelled
differently.
Dictionary: A book to find meanings of words.
Thesaurus: A book used to find synonyms.
Antonym: A word which is the opposite of another word.
Prefix: Letters placed at the beginning of a word to alter its meaning.
Suffix: Letters placed at the end of a word often indicating tense.
And don’t forget all the other vocabulary you have learned!
