Mr. Beddingfield
The eternal Word, which was in the beginning with God, and was God;
the incarnate Word, which was made flesh and dwelt among us;
the gospel Word, which is the good news that was preached to us;
the written Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path;
the living Word, which is powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword;
this is the Word of God for the people of God:
Thanks be to God.

Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord!
Give praise, O servants of the Lord –
All you who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
Sing to God’s name, for he Lord is gracious.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
And Israel for his own possession.
I know that the Lord is great;
Our Lord is above all gods.
Praise the name of the Lord!

Love’s Redeeming Work Is Done
O Lord, whose will it is that, next to yourself,
we should hold our parents in highest honor:
It is right and good that, as we seek your presence in worship,
we also ask your goodness towards them.
We thank you for our homes and families and pray that
you would preserve them in the love and care of your church,
in health of body and mind, and in grace for every trial.
Grant that through us no sorrow may befall them;
and finally, as they have been kind to us, so may you be to them,
for you are the One from whom every family on earth is named;
through Jesus Christ, your Son, we pray. Amen.

FOUNDATION
How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
Christ has died! Christ has risen! / Christ will come again!
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, / to receive power, wealth,
wisdom and might, honor, glory and blessing!
To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, / be blessing and honor
and glory and might forever and ever!
Alleluia! / Amen!
(based on Revelation 5:12-13 NIV)

It is just about that time of year when school closes for the summer. YOU
have been a generous congregation to supply approximately 130 children in the
Buies Creek, Lafayette, and Angier areas food to eat on weekends and holidays.
These children have been recognized by school counselors as children from
families with limited resources who lack enough food during the times they are
not in school. In school they get breakfast and lunch so when they are not in
school they are unable to have those two meals provided for them.

Many of you have purchased individual cereals and made contributions all year
long to insure that there are enough funds to keep this worthy project going.
You have made a difference in the lives of these children. A huge THANK YOU!
Our one last need is small plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly. MBC has been
asked to contribute 50 of each. We need these items by Sunday, May 28th.
(We have only collected 23 Peanut Butter’s & 23 Jelly’s so far.)
The last week of school one jar of each will be given to every child
participating in this project. Thank you for making sure we meet our goal!
We will take a break this summer until school begins next fall. Thank you, once
again, for meeting the needs of others.
Our faithful packers and deliverers are: Gail Cogdill, Susan Crooks, Lisa
Spainhour, Linda Stewart, Barbara Taylor, Alice Thomas and Martha Womble.

Memorial Baptist Church is an inviting, inclusive, Christ-centered community

of Jesus. If you mourn and need comfort; if you’re weary and need rest;
if you feel friendless and need friendship; if you need a Savior; if you need
love; if you need help; whoever you are and whatever your circumstances,
we open the door and in the name of Jesus bid you come.
