1.A Penny weighs 2.5 grams -- amazingly, the average weight of a humming bird.
A can of soda has about 10 grams of sugar in it. Write an equation showing how
one might find the amount of sugar in x cans of soda – in terms of pennies? J
2.If you flip a penny 10,000 times, it will not be heads 50% of the time, but more
like 49%. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom. Given
these new odds, about how many times would Sean expect to get heads after
flipping a penny 25,000 times?
3.Constan was surprised when cleaning out his abuela’s shed. In several chests, he
found a total of 10 billion pennies!!! Even if Constan spends 1 dollar (100 pennies)
every second of every day, how long will it take for Constan to go broke? Use an
equation to help you calculate your answer.
