HUNGERING TO BUILD COMMUNITY
We follow Jesus this week on our Lenten journey as He
enters Jerusalem, a community He knew well. CRS
Rice Bowl asks us to prayerfully enter into our own
communities, to find those who are hungry and thirsty,
those who need our help. How does our Lenten journey
motivate us to serve those we encounter in our daily
lives? Visit crsricebowl.org for more.
THE PASSION
Sunday, March 20 at 6:00 pm the Bishopville Church of
Christ will be showing the movie The Passion of the
Christ. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
Loving God,
I am just beginning to realize how much You love me.
Your Son, Jesus, was humble and obedient.
He fulfilled your will for Him by becoming human and
suffering with us.
I ask You for the desire to become more humble
so that my own life might also bear witness to You.
I want to use the small sufferings I have in this world
to give You glory.
Please, Lord, guide my mind with Your truth.
Strengthen my life by the example of Jesus.
Help me to be with Jesus in this week
as He demonstrates again His total love for me.
He died so that I would no longer
be separated from You.
Help me to feel how close You are
and to live in union with You.
COMMUNITY CHOIR
The Community Choir will present Kingdom Power
Glory at Holy Cross on Monday, March 28 at 7:00 pm.
Refreshments will following
LAUDATO SI REFLECTION
The Holy Father links the problems of pollution and
waste to a throwaway culture: “We have not yet
managed to adopt a circular model of production
capable of preserving resources for present and future
generations, while limiting as much as possible the use
of non-renewable resources, moderating their
consumption, maximizing their efficient use, reusing
and recycling them” [no. 23]
GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION
Pope Francis has asked our parish to support Christians
in the Holy Land. Through the Good Friday Collection,
you stand in solidarity with the Church in the Holy
Land as a witness of peace. Your support means that
our church will conduct parish ministry, provide
Catholic education, feed the hungry, develop housing
for Christians, maintain shrines and operate refugee
centers in the Holy Land. Like Simon of Cyrene, you
can help carry the cross under very difficult
circumstances in the Holy Land. Christians, along with
all of the clergy and religious who serve in the Holy
Land, will deeply appreciate your prayers and financial
help!
