Student Scholarship benefit
Saturday, October 11, 2014
5:30 - 10:30pm
• Purchase your tickets!
• Bid on these exciting
auction packages!
• Volunteer at the Gala
The DeLaSalle community has
made a commitment this year
to raise funds for a non-profit
called H2O For Life. We will
be partnered with a school in
a developing country in need
of water, filtration resources,
and hygiene education. Katie
Spotz – a national speaker – will
share more information about
the project during an all-school
assembly on Monday, September 29.
11th Grade Retreat Happens October 1
The junior class will gather for a retreat on Wednesday,
October 1. Class retreats, which are full-day retreats for
DeLaSalle students organized by Lasallian Ministry, help
students develop deeper connections with their classmates,
build class unity, and share. Participating in a retreat is
required for all students. Eleventh grade students will reflect
on the themes of servant leadership, responsibility, and
spirituality in a diverse world during their retreat. Click here
for more information about the retreat.
Quick Guide to the DeLaSalle Website - “Mission”
While considerable administrative
time is correctly devoted to academics,
student activities, admissions, and
development work for DeLaSalle,
all strategic planning discussions
and decisions are built upon the
unique Mission of DeLaSalle. To
best understand DeLaSalle, families
and visitors to our website should
familiarize themselves with the
“Mission” menu of 9 separate sub-topics.
For example, this is where users may learn more about our legacy of Catholic Education combined with the Lasallian Affiliation
that connects us to schools and ministries around the world. A DeLaSalle student will join his or her peers in the practice of
Lasallian Prayers at least seven times each day and well over 5000 times over the course of four years of study. In addition to four
years of required Theology course work, all students must participate in the Christian Service Program and Class Retreats. Most
will choose to go well beyond minimum requirements and participate in broader Service Trips or events such as the Starry Night
Prom.
We encourage parents and students to find time to navigate the site and discover many of the online resources available to them
on their computer, tablet or phone.
Negative Lunch Account Balances
The DeLaSalle Cafe welcomes you to a new school year. Each day, the Cafe provides students with
nutritious meals at affordable prices.
DeLaSalle participates in the National School Lunch Program, which provides low-cost or free lunches
to qualified students. Interested families must apply for these benefits each school year, even if they
received benefits the previous school year. Benefits do not carry over after 30 days of service. Families
may apply for these benefits by completing and returning this application to Pam Beckman. The
deadline to renew benefits is Friday, October 3. Students will lose benefits and must pay full price for
meals if the benefits are not renewed by October 3.
As in years past, students who reach a negative cafeteria account balance of $5.00 may not purchase
any food from the Cafe. Starting Monday, October 13, those students will receive a bag lunch of a
sandwich, apple, bag of carrots and milk.
Parents are encouraged to create an account through the LunchTime payment portal and manage their child’s cafeteria account.
Click here for instructions to create an account. The DeLaSalle Cafe webpage also includes instructions about how to deposit
money electronically into your child’s account and how to view your child’s transactions and balance. Questions? Please contact
[email protected].
