Nativity Service
Next week we will be holding our Nativity Service at St Thomas’ Church. The children and
staff are working hard with rehearsals and there is a separate letter with all the details for
next week (sent out in book bags, attached to this email and on the school website). Please
ensure you have returned your slip informing us who will be collecting your child after the
service at the church on Thursday. Thank you.
World Book Day competition
To celebrate World Book Day 2017,
and to win a world of stories for our
school, don’t forget to send in your
transformed matchbox by next
Monday 5th December in order to enter
the World Book Day Competition. A
match box was given to each child at
the beginning of this week.
Inverse advent calendar
Your child will now have been given their advent calendar number to take part in our
Inverse Advent Event, if they would like to do so. As a reminder, your child has been invited
to bring in an item, on the day they have been allocated, to add to a class Christmas hamper
that we will deliver to a local food-bank.
Non-perishable food items are great but if the children could think of an inexpensive treat a small box of chocolates, biscuits or perhaps hand-cream or some such cosmetic gift - then
the Class’ hamper will feel more like a Christmas gift. We hope that in choosing an item to
add to the bank, our children will feel more connected to our whole community and have an
even better understand the gift of giving.
ORBIT Booking for Spring Term
Please find attached the ORBIT booking form for next half term. Please
complete and return to the school office with your payment by
Monday 12th December. If you have not yet registered your child,
but wish to book, please contact the school office who will be happy
to provide you with a registration form or you can print off and return the
attached emailed form.
ORBIT Bookings for this term
Places are still available this term on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings so if
you would like some extra time for a bit of Christmas shopping please send in the attached
booking form with your payment to the school office. Again, if you have not used Orbit
before then we will require a completed registration form.
Reminder
Please can we remind parents that cars should not be parked on the zig-zag yellow lines
outside of the school. Thank you.
Plastic Bottle Tops
As part of our Christmas craft activities KS1 are looking for donations of clean, plastic bottle
tops. They need to be tall/deep plastic bottle top lids – deeper than a milk bottle - as they
will become the stand for mini Christmas trees. Please pop into the box provided in the
school concourse. Thank you.
Hot Lunches
The menu for next term is again attached and has gone into children’s bookbags. Orders
cannot be processed unless payments have been made in advance. Our preferred method
of payment is via Tucasi online. Please remember to return your completed menus by
Friday 9th December.
In addition, a menu for our Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 14th December has been
distributed. Please return by Wednesday 7th December if your child would like to have a
Christmas dinner on that day.
HSA News
Bookings are now being taken for wreath making night on 8 December. If you would like to
