We've enjoyed a beautiful winter so far but it is already time to start thinking about the outdoor soccer season. The Saskatoon Aurora Soccer club is excited about the upcoming season and working with your children to develop not only their individual soccer skills, but also their sense of fair play, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We are looking forward to another great season for the Saskatoon Aurora Soccer Club. If you have any questions now or throughout the season, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. Respectfully yours in soccer, Daniel Côté President, Saskatoon Aurora Soccer Club 2016 Outdoor Registration Outdoor registration for the Aurora Soccer Club will take place as follows: The Aurora Soccer Club would like to encourage you to avoid the line ups and register using our online registration system. Registration fees go toward/includes the following: Your soccer registration fees are very competitive with those paid for other sports and leisure activities. Even so, you may be interested in knowing how the amount is set. For the outdoor season, the fee is based on the team assessments made by Saskatoon Youth Soccer, which for this year include an increased fee to recover increased costs assessed by the Saskatchewan Soccer Association. These fees cover the staff time at SYSI required to organize the league and the registrations, schedule and assign fields, assign referees, and pay the referees. This sum also includes provincial registration fees which cover insurance for each participant. Prior to the beginning of the season, the Aurora Soccer Club breaks this out into a player-based fee, and adds its anticipated costs including the costs associated with evaluations, the registration process, training coaches, purchasing and providing equipment. Based on that review, your Board carefully considered the anticipated expenses, and additional costs which will be carried by the Club for the coming year. These costs include developing and implementing an online registration system and arrived at a registration fee for the 2016 outdoor season of $250.00 per player. **NEW this year, each player (U12-U16) will receive their own uniform kit (one jersey, one pair of shorts and one pair of socks) ** The uniform kit is included in your registration fees. Players that received uniform kits for the indoor season will not receive a uniform kit for the outdoor season. -The purchase of the uniform kit will eliminate the need to collect the uniform deposits previously required by all players. All U18 players must register directly with SYSI not at Aurora registrations. http://saskatoonyouthsoccer.ca/registration/under-18registration for details. Volunteer Commitment All U10 - U16 families are required to pay a $150 volunteer bond (this is not per player fee; it is a per family fee). If you are able to volunteer just four hours over the season, your volunteer bond will be credited back. Volunteer positions are available with the Club. We are looking for a Community head coach and a Registrar. For information on these positions please contact [email protected]. More information on volunteering is available on our website. ***Please remember to bring an extra cheque if paying in person** KidSport/Canadian Tire Jumpstart/SportCheck Jumpstart The deadline for KidSport applications is March 15th. If applying for KidSport funding please contact the registrar ([email protected]) to ensure you have the current application and all pertinent information. Forms will be available at registration OR download and print the KidSport Application to have it filled out ahead of time. Since KidSport funding is in higher demand as more families are applying, other avenues to apply for funding are the Canadian Jumpstart Program and the SportCheck Jumpstart Program. Applications for these programs can be found on the Canadian Tire and SportCheck websites. Team Fees Once teams are finalized, team fees are set by the team staff and include things like tournament fees and other miscellaneous fees as agreed to by the team. U10 Development Players An assessment for player placement for training purposes is essential in ensuring coaching matches level of skill and experience of the players. Watch for more details when you register your U10 player(s) online. For additional information on the U10 Development league and the SYSI U10 Development league FAQs is available on our website.
