This is an ongoing national initiative that parents and caregivers may choose to join at any time. The goal is to read 1000 books to your little one before the start of kindergarten. Come to the library to register, and you will receive a packet of materials, including a detailed explanation of the program and a book log. For each milestone (100, 200, etc.) your child will get a sticker and move his or her name on our “Wall of Fame.” A free book and certificate of completion are awarded to those reaching the 1000 book goal. Mother Goose on the Loose Reading ABCs Tuesdays, 10:30 - 11:00 Our preschool class features a different letter of the alphabet each week, with a variety of skill-building finger plays, stories, music and more! Rockin’ Readers Mondays, 9:30 - 10:00 & Saturdays, 10:45 - 11:15 Saturdays, 11:30 – 12:00 This award-winning lap-sit class for little ones and their caregivers includes songs, nursery rhymes, knee-bounces, and movement to help develop important pre-literacy skills. This class is appropriate for infants through preschool age. Bring the family to enjoy a readaloud story, followed by an activity or craft. This class is loosely geared toward elementary-aged children, but preschoolers and tweens are welcome, too! No pre-registration is required. Our Movie Book Club is recommended for children in grades 4-8. Those who register for the club by March 31 will receive a free copy of the book.
