quality. Congratulations to the students who were successful in receiving a leadership position for 2017.
Well done to all the students who competed in the Swimming
Carnival today. There were some great results on the day.

Maroondah Youth Wellbeing Project/Survey
Parents should have received a notice informing
them about the upcoming survey that the Year 5&6
students will undertake next week. This is the second
year we have been involved in the survey. The data
and feedback we received from last years survey
has been very beneficial and we plan to use the
results to help improve the students wellbeing.
If you don’t want your child to participate in the
project, please return the form that was with the
notice to your teacher by Wednesday 23rd February.
If you have any questions about the project please
see Mr MacCartney.
Jim Asimakopoulos speaks to Year 6’s about being
a Role Model
Last Thursday the Year 6’s were honoured to have Jim
Asimakopoulos come in and talk
to us about some key roles in
being a leader. Although Jim had
cerebral palsy he doesn’t have
self-pity and he didn’t want
anyone to feel sorry for him. Jim
was extremely inspirational and
touching. While he was talking
some of the students and teachers shed a few tears. One quote
that stood out for me is,
‘Remember to tell people what
you CAN do and not what you
CAN’T do.’ by Amber Truong
20th & 22nd March—Year 6 Leadership Days with schools in
our Cluster
As a team, we value your support and welcome any assistance in the classroom or in specialists,. If you have the
time at the start or end of the day (20-30 minutes) to listen
to students read we would value your help.
It has been great to have so many parents come up and
introduce themselves in the first couple of weeks. We encourage strong partnerships between school and home, so
if you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate
to ask.
