WIN A $500 EDUCATIONAL GRANT FOR YOUR CLASSROOM FROM THE NBA DETROIT PISTONS!
The Detroit Pistons, The LEAGUE Michigan and Feed The Children are hosting a “We’ve Got Big Shoes To Fill”
challenge. All of the money raised goes towards the 2nd Annual Pistons Care Telethon benefiting Feed The
Children (Wed., March 11th, Pistons vs New York Knicks, 7:30pm, Fox Sports Detroit) to provide basic
necessities such as food and personal care items to needy families throughout the state of Michigan.
HOW TO GET STARTED
Fill out the accompanying registration form and either fax or e-mail it to Lynn Bahena at 313-309-1651 or [email protected]. Registration forms need to be sent in by Tuesday, February 10th
The first 200 classrooms to register will receive a “Pistons Challenge Package” that includes a Feed The
Children box to collect money, a size 20 red, white and blue Pistons shoe to display in the classroom and
12 tickets to an upcoming Pistons home game to use as classroom incentives
Set a goal for the number of families your classroom wants to sponsor ($17 feeds a family of four for 10-14 days)
Your students have creative choice on how to raise the funds for the challenge (e.g., can/bottle drive, coin drive, hat day, etc.), as well as how to use the 12 Pistons tickets as student incentives to promote the fundraiser
The challenge begins Monday, February 23rd and will end Friday, March 6th. “Challenge packages” will be delivered to your school by Friday, February 13th
Please convert any loose change or money into one check made payable to Feed The Children. Please have all donations available for pick-up by Monday, March 9th

TEACHERS
Teachers from the top three fundraising classrooms receive a grant from the Pistons-Palace Foundation to purchase
educational supplies for their classroom, as well as a class pizza party, and a block of 120 tickets for the entire
classroom and their families to attend an upcoming Pistons home game at The Palace!
• 1st Place Teacher - $500 grant
• 2nd Place Teacher - $350 grant
• 3rd Place Teacher - $150 grant
The classroom that raises the most money will help a Feed The Children truck deliver food and personal care items to
a non-profit in their local area. The truck will provide up to 400 families with a 25 pound box of food and 15 pounds
of personal care items.

Feed The Children is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Donations and contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law, receipts will be provided with a tax contribution receipt.
