N. B. on the inner surface of the tube and raise thermal efficiency in the furnace walls. Focus on ribbing process Ribs are obtained through cold drawing process on a grooved plug from hollows supplied by SMP mills. After drawing and ribbing pass, tubes are heat treated to get specified metallurgical requirements. Before final cutting, tubes are 100% checked by Eddy Current and /or Ultrasonic test, depending on customer’s requirements. 10 Our tubes are manufactured in our plant located in Vitry-leFrançois (France) by our skilled and experienced workforce. General information High quality generates customer confidence and satisfaction and contributes to a company’s economic performance. Quality leadership is therefore the overriding objective and is determinant to our corporate policy. Our Quality Assurance System covers all stages of production at all plants involved in the manufacture of our tubes, from the steelworks via the tube and pipe hot rolling mills right through to the company’s finishing lines and shipping departments. In the production process of rifled boiler tubes, the quality chain is taken over by Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision Etirage whose Vitry-le-François plant is certified ISO 9001 (2000 version) and ISO 14001 (1996 version).
