LAST DAY ARRANGEMENTS
GOOD FOOD SHOW
Tomorrow we finish early for Christmas. Pupils will have
an early lunch (or brunch as we are calling it) and will be
dismissed from 12pm onwards. There are some buses
available but we won’t know until later today if all the
buses will be there at dismissal time. Wednesday 3rd
January is a Staff training day and pupils return to
th
school on Thursday 4 January at normal time.
The last few weeks in school, as we journeyed towards
Christmas, have been very rewarding. Our Christmas
Fair was a huge success, Aladdin our Musical Panto
was outstanding, and our Christmas Carol Service
inspirational. The staff and pupils have worked ever so
hard to ensure major events of the highest quality have
been served to our community. Thank you to everyone
involved.
May I take this opportunity to wish all of our students
and families a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

30 Year 11 pupils, along with Miss McAllister, Mrs
Sefton and Mrs Hale, went to the Birmingham Exhibition
Centre to see the Good Food Show with coach driver
Neil.
It was an early start, heading off in groggy fashion at
6.30am! After arriving promptly at 9.00am, the group
was unleashed amongst the general public for an hour
to savour the delights of British and European cuisines.
At 10.00am everyone met up again to see the Celebrity
Chef, Ainsley Harriott, Show. He was at his “ready,
steady, cook” best, entertaining the crowd and he
cooked up a delicious dish with two assistants.
After the show there was an array of delectable drinks
and food to be sampled, and more celebrity chefs
showed their faces, such as Jamie Oliver, Gordon
Ramsey and Gary Rhodes. One pupil had the privilege
of meeting Mr Rhodes. Gordon also stopped for a chat
with our pupils.
The day ended back at College for 3.30, just in time to
whizz home and create sumptuous feasts for our
families.
NETBALL VICTORY FOR THE GIRLS AGAIN!
Year 8 squad played against Prenton Girls and were
victorious, with a result of 16-3. All the girls played
fantastically well, with some superb shooting from Katie
Robinson and Natasha Nicholls.
The Year 7 team had a fantastic match against Prenton
High on Wednesday and won 8-0. This is a superb
result for them. Well done!
CAROL SERVICE
On Thursday 14th December the College celebrated its
Annual Carol Service. There was a great involvement
from pupils and staff who sang in the choir, played in the
concert band, acted and led the congregation in prayer
and with readings.
The event gave people the opportunity to stop in the
busyness of Christmas preparations to reflect upon what
Christmas is about, and gave the community time to
gather together in prayer.
Many thanks to all pupils and staff involved in the
organisation and delivery of the Carol Service.
The whole day was a great success and, although it
was a busy day, a lot was learned from the expert
chefs.
