Governor’s Message
Well summer is here and the crabs are plentiful . We will be having a crab feast on
July 23rd. Please purchase your tickets for the crab feast and other functions in
advance so we do not have to cancel the events due to lack of attendance.
I would like to thank Emmett for an outstanding job on the car show and all the
volunteers who helped. It turned out to be a great day for all. I would also like to thank
Marty and Vicki for a great job in the kitchen and Linda and
John for giving us a much needed break from the kitchen.
Anyone else interested on cooking a night please let me know.
I hope you all will have a great summer and hope to see you at
the lodge. On a closing note, please remember our bartenders
and wait staff work very hard and tips are greatly appreciated.

Moose Provides Help to Flood Victims
This month the State of West Virginia was hit with
some strong rain, wind, and hail. The flooding that
took place left families in approximately 40 counties
under water. Some homes are now under inches of
mud. Other homes were washed away completely.
Much of West Virginia is now in a state of devastation and 20 plus lives have been lost.
It only took the men and women of three local
Moose Lodges (Nitro, Charleston and St. Albans) a
day or two to get plans to help in motion. Radio
stations started asking for donations to be brought
to these local lodges. With the help of social media,
in just a couple of days the first truck was ready to
roll out with supplies for those in need.
Thank you to all the men and women of the
Moose who have been sending food, water, clothing,
toys and all the prayers they can muster during
these tough times. Want to help out? Please contact
