Indoor Air Pollution and Negative Effects on Workers Dilşad AKAL* Abstract Workers can not escape to expose indoor air pollutants like gas, dust or vapor during the daily working period in factories or in offices if the necessary precautions are not taken. The pollutants are especially volatile organic and inorganic compunds and respirable dust particles. Firstly probable pollutant concentrations should be measured. In order to decide which are probable pollutants in a factory; the specific properties of chemicals should be investigated which are used during the production prosess. For this step the material safety data sheets of these chemicals are important sources. After determining the probable pollutants in the working enviroment, the second step should be to determine both the concentrations of these pollutants in enviroment and the personal exposure levels The measurements should be taken during the most dense working period. The two measurement time in a year like summer and winter can help to get interpretierbare results. The last step after taken the results; should be compare them with national and international limit values then take cumulative and personal protections.
