Everyone is welcome. GRIT™ CLASS POLICIES AND GUIDELINES CLASS POLICIES: Refunds: No refunds for sessions not used within six months of purchase date. Reservations: You may reserve your spot in class at the welcome center up to one month in advance in the GRIT™ binder. (sheets go out on the 15th of each month for the following month.) Only members that purchased class session cards are permitted to sign up. Absolutely NO phone reservations. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel any class with 3 or less people. Cancellation: If you sign up for a class and must cancel, please stop by or call the welcome center (281-469-1481) within 24 hours of the class or you will be charged for the class/session. Waiting List: You may put your name on the waiting list. If there is a cancellation the YMCA will make all efforts to call the next person on the list. If we call you, you are now officially in the class and must cancel within 24 hours if you can not make the class. Stand-By: You may also show up for a class with the chance of getting in if someone does not show. CLASS GUIDELINES: Class/Session check-in begins 5 minutes before the class starts. 1. Sign the check in sheet. 2. Pull your index card (given to you when you paid for sessions) and give to instructor to mark. Don’t be late. Instructors will give a 2-3-minute grace period for those preregistered. If you are not present at this time you will forfeit your spot in class to the first stand-by member waiting. Bring a towel and water bottle. After your session, please wipe down your equipment with a towel and clean with our special disinfecting gym wipes. You are responsible for getting your own equipment and returning it after your class or session. Please wear comfortable clothing. Avoid bulky, baggy clothing and jewelry. Please avoid zipper and button pants. The GRIT™ equipment may only be used during official class or training times and only under the direct supervision of a GRIT™ certified YMCA instructor. Disciplinary action will be taken if any member violates any of the YMCA policies or guidelines. EXERCISE GUIDELINES: If you are new to GRIT™, please inform the instructor that this is your first class. Pregnant women may not participate in GRIT™. Exercise smart. Follow the instructions of your teacher. Establish core strength, concentration and control before attempting more challenging exercise. Work at your own pace. Potential Risks: I understand that the possibility exists that certain abnormal changes may occur during or after any exercise program, which cannot always be predicted. These abnormal reactions and changes may include: Changes in blood pressure Changes in heart rate Sore muscles Use of strength training equipment can lead to musculoskeletal pain, strain and injury if not properly warmed up, please following safety procedures.
