Last Week 9/21– 9/25 Reading: Compare/Contrast Text Asking

Ms. Craig’s Newsletter
September 25, 2015
Dear Parents,
Where has the month of September gone?
We spent some time this week putting
together our binders so they will start
coming home soon. This will hopefully
allow you and your child to discuss their
progress during the year. We worked this
week comparing and contrasting text.
Another strategy we discussed was asking
questions as we read to help make sure we
understand the text we are reading.
When you are reading, with your child,
make sure that they stop and ask
questions to help them monitor their
understanding. During Social Studies we
have been working on looking at the
geography of different locations. In math,
we will be focusing on multiplication and
division. The students should continue to
practice their math facts at home.
Remember they should also be doing Xtra
Math three times a week.
J Should be another fun week in Room
11.
* We fill out our assignment notebook
each day so your child should always know
what assignments are due. If they have
forgotten you can always check my
webpage.
