Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that you had an enjoyable summer holiday. I am very excited to get to know and
work with your children this year.
We are now in our third year the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) which has
been successful in creating exciting learning opportunities for children in history,

PE
This year children will be taught PE twice a week. Coach Joe will teach one lesson of
PE each week and I will teach the second. Your child’s PE days are
Wednesday & Friday.
Please ensure that your child brings the correct PE kit (Black shorts, leggings or
tracksuit bottoms, white t-shirt and trainers). Additionally, please ensure your child’s
kit and uniform is labeled to avoid items being left unclaimed in lost property.
Homework
Homework will be given to children every Friday to be returned the following Friday.
Reading
We expect that your child reads on a daily basis for at least 25 minutes. This is a
very important activity for all children to engage in, helping them with their spelling,
punctuation and grammar skills.
You are invited to meet me and ask any questions about the class topics and routines
on Monday 12th September. You should have already received a letter about this.
Finally I would just like to remind you that the school gates open at 8.50am each
morning and that your child should be settled in class by 9am at the latest when
learning starts. Please remember that the school day ends at 3:30pm and that
children must be collected on time. It is important that staff are able to prepare
lessons and attend staff meetings directly after school, therefore parents of children
that are collected late will be fined as advised by the attendance officer from the
Hackney Learning Trust.
I look forward to working with you all during what I’m sure will be a successful
school year. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come and
talk to me in the playground after school or make an appointment with me at the
school office.
Yours Sincerely,
Miss Otu & Mr Drayton (Class Teachers)
