Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to all the Parents and Carers who came to join us in Great St Mary’s for our Harvest
Festival. It was a lovely service and we were very proud of all our children who took part so
wonderfully. It was a great mixture of songs, poems and prayers as well as some thought provoking
ideas. Thank you to everyone who donated items for the Cambridge Food Back. Margaret, one of the
Church Wardens, took our gifts to the Foodbank on Monday afternoon and they were received with
grateful thanks. Great St Mary’s are holding a ‘Blessing of the Animals’ service at 11am on Sunday,
everyone is welcome.
Parents have commented how helpful the section on homework in last week’s newsletter was. If there
is anything else that you feel would be useful to have clarified on the newsletter please let us know
and we will do our best to make it happen. Thank you to everyone who returned the Parent’s
workshop replies. It has been great to have such a positive response. The Senior Leadership Team
will be collating all the responses and planning a programme in the next couple of weeks; watch this
space...
One of the things that I personally think makes Park Street special is Buddy Time. This is a half hour
session each week where Class 4 and Class 1 come together as buddies. It is a time all the children
really look forward to and benefit from. Miss Deelstra took a few pictures this week which I wanted to
share.
Please note, next week there will be no newsletter from me; Class 3 are going to write it for me telling you all about their
trip to Ely Cathedral. There will be a letter and reply slip giving details about Parents Evening, please do come and talk to
your child’s teacher about how they have started the year and what our expectations are for the year ahead.
