8 hours per day; 190 days per year + 2 for New Teacher Inservice
Salary:
According to the 2016-17 Licensed Salary Schedule: $37,262 - $73,890 (2017-18
salary schedule TBD). Includes 6% PERS contribution, family benefit package, LTD
and Life Insurance.
Description:
Advise and counsel adolescents using a mental health perspective that reflects an
understanding of the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population.
Provide leadership by delivering high-quality services aligned with the district’s vision
and mission of meeting the needs of all students. Support the academic achievement
of all students as they prepare for success in the 21st Century by working directly with
teachers, students and parents. Collaborate with a team to design, develop, implement
and continually evaluate and improve a systematic school-counseling program that
ensures all students graduate career and life ready.
Requirements:
Current Oregon school counselor license. Ability to develop and maintain positive
working relationships with faculty and staff and work well with a diverse group of
students and parents. Ability to create and run support groups for parents/students and
to use technology to support counseling work.
Qualifications Desired: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Knowledge of college entrance procedures,
testing and ODE requirements. Experience with student counseling. Training in
running and maintaining small counseling support groups. Communication skills.
Conflict resolution training.
