Note
Rules, regulations, codes and conduct:
English is the only language of teaching and communication in my classes. Please do your
best to speak English all the time you are in contact with me within or without class.
Discipline is the first factor for optimal efficiency. According to the rules and regulations
of NU, class attendance is compulsory, but students are required not to interrupt the
sessions with their late arrival, in-class cellphone or text communications, irrelevant
discussions, wayward chatting, daydreaming and the like. Proper class attendance is
evaluated with active eye-contact and alert participation in the raised discussions in class.
Any kind of misconduct or violation of social values such as insult, plagiarism, or breach
of NU's regulations has to be avoided strictly to be able to create a comfortable, friendly
and productive atmosphere within and without class. Plagiarism and cheating have no place
in a scholarly community. Have the confidence in yourself to give your original best. This
is all that is required of you. Hence, a cruder paper can be more likely to get higher mark
based on the originality of its content than a polished copy-pasted task.
Class attendance:
In case of necessity, and confirmed by the NU officials, you can drop, withdraw, or be
absent from class provided that you fulfill the designed tasks if you intend to participate in
the final. In such cases, you might lose part of the class points. Absences are recognized
for the following reasons:

Absences to participate in official campus activities (designated by one of the
eligible authorities of NU)

Absences for family or personal emergencies (verified by the HoD or Dean)

Absences for medical reasons (discussed with me or HoD)

Absences for work-related travel (discussed with me or HoD)
If you miss a class, make arrangements with me as soon as possible to arrange time for
your make-up assignments. You are responsible for getting class notes from a classmate.
Make-up assignments are due by the deadline set for the class. No exceptions will be
granted under any condition within my authority
Grading:
Minimum point is (0) and maximum point is (20) which you can gain up to the end of the
current course sessions and final. Full score can be achieved during the semester through
your efforts. Your attitude, improvement, and active participation in class discussions
significantly affect your total grade.
Appointment and consultation:
You may reach me through my email (mentioned above) for any case regarding my classes
or the subjects covered in classes, assignments, activities, etc. Please do not hesitate to
contact me if you have questions or want to schedule make-up work or an appointment. I
will do my best to assist you and get back to you in case of temporary unavailability.
Nevertheless, if you want to drop me an email, please take enough care to a) mention the
problem in the subject line in your email, b) write only in English, c) use formal email
style, and d) include all your details (student and subject).
