Program
Description and Contact Information
Chipper
From January thru October, the chipper truck will only run on the first full trash
week of the month, beginning on the first Monday of the month. During Leaf
season, the chipper will be suspended from pickups (i.e. November and
December). Please do not place branches at the curb during leaf season.
Electronic
Recycling
Collection
These items are picked up on your regular trash day. A complete list of electronic
items to be recycled is available of the Public Works page of the Borough website
at www.haddonfieldnj.org.
Leaf Collection
Leaf collection begins this fall on October 31, 2016 through December 9, 2016. The
Borough will provide a total of 3 pickups during leaf season. The daily schedule for
leaf pickup will be listed on the Borough’s website. Only piles will be collected. DO
NOT RAKE LEAVES INTO GUTTER OR STREETS. Do not bag leaves during this time
period. Residents are encouraged to compost their leaves on their own property
for use as fertilizer and to reduce the quantity that must be collected. Once the
leaf machines have been down your street for the third time they will NOT be able
to return. Leaves will then need to be put out as vegetative waste pickup.
Leaves raked into the gutter or street are in violation of State Stormwater Laws. In
additional, foul weather causes vegetation in the streets to clog storm drains
resulting in flooding. Early snow mixes with leaves and can create traffic hazards
and loss in parking. Leaves in this condition are extremely difficult to remove.
There will be a “No Tolerance” policy for leaves found placed in the street or
gutter. Tickets will be issued to the homeowner regardless as to whether it was the
homeowner or landscaper that placed them there
Recycling
Collection
This is a single stream collection, which means that all items can be placed in your
recycling bucket. A complete list of the items is available on our website
www.haddonfieldnj.org under the Public Works departmental page.
Shredding Event
This event is held annually on the 1st Saturday in October from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. and is held in the Archer & Griener parking lot, and accessed from the Euclid
Avenue driveway.
Spring Clean-up
Beginning Monday, April 3, 2017 and ending on Friday, April 28, 2017, the Borough
provides special Spring Cleanup. During that period trucks will pick up piles of
leaves and other yard debris. During the month of April, the chipper will run the 1st
and 3rd weeks of the month. The leaf machine will run the 2 nd and 4th weeks of
the month. Two (2) collections by each machine will be provided. Following
Friday, April 28, 2017 the normal regulations regarding trash and brush removal will
be reinstated.
Vegetative
Waste
From November through March the vegetative waste truck will run on the 3rd trash
week of each month, which begins on the third Monday of the month. It will only
run one week per month during these months. Cut it and Leave it” Program for
Grass Clippings: NJDEP reminds everyone to “Cut it and leave it”, which is an
environmentally friendly lawn care method. A copy of the full program can be
found on the Borough’s Sustainable Haddonfield page of the website.
