Pre K Monthly Newsletter: March 2017

April 2017
Hello At Home!
Spring has sprung! Much was accomplished in March as we worked hard learning
about our various themes and enjoying special programing like our visit from the
Trailside Museum. We are nearly through the entire alphabet and will be
finishing up this month. Please continue to review all the letters and letter
sounds with your child. Pre-Kindergarteners and early Kindergarteners will still
need a lot of practice and fun review to help solidify their understanding of the
alphabet. The Easter Bunny will be hopping into our school this month to visit
as well! We are looking forward to making many fun Springtime art projects with
the children and exploring the wonders of Spring!
The end of the year is fast approaching with the weeks seeming to pass more
quickly than the last. The end of April is a good time to start gently talking to
your child about their next “big steps” whether it be Kindergarten or Pre-K.
Mention the name of your child’s school and show them a picture, talk about
how they will get there each day, that they will be making new friends and learning
about new and exciting things with their new teacher. If your child will be
returning to us again next year, talk about that too. Mention how there will be
some new friends and some old friends and that they will be learning new and
different things because they are older and smarter! This is an exciting time for
your child when they are starting to realize their own growth and continued
potential! For the very first time in their lives they are both looking back and
looking forward.
We wish you and yours a joyful Easter and a fun filled Spring!

Reminder: The Weather is Getting Warmer
We invite you to send a reusable water bottle (or child friendly thermos) labeled with your
child’s name with fresh cool water each day. As we are able to go outdoors and run
around more often, we like to encourage the children to stay hydrated. Their own water
bottles make this easier for them.
