Dear Friends:
We are excited to invite you to join us in a new program called Vintners for Veterans which is
our way of saying a heartfelt “thank you” to the men and women who have bravely and proudly
served our country, and now live at the Veterans’ Home of California at Yountville.
Here’s how Vintners for Veterans works - each week, a different Napa Valley Winery has the
opportunity to provide their wines – a minimum of one case of white wine, and one and onehalf cases of red wine - to accompany the Sunday meal served in the dining room at the
Veterans’ Home. This is the most special meal of the week for the residents, and the day they
often enjoy visits from friends and family.
Wineries may choose to have representatives on-site from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM to pour the
wines, or we will pick up your donated wines, and arrange to have them poured by friendly
volunteers who will visit with the Vets, and share any information about the wines that the
winery sends along.
The pouring table will also feature prominent signage displaying the name of the donating
winery, and Napa Valley Unity League plans to maintain a website that acknowledges each
participating winery, and provides a link to the winery’s website.
With the abundance of great wines that flow from Napa Valley, we think the Vintners for
Veterans program is a uniquely Napa Valley way of showing our gratitude to the women and
men who have preserved our freedoms across the years. Won’t you join day by filling out the
enclosed participation agreement, and emailing or mailing it back to us? We’ll follow up to
confirm your participation and make any arrangements that are needed.
