Commissions Updates
Spiritual Life – Carol Pulhmann-Schneider
 Divine Mercy Sunday had beautiful candles and music and
was attended by about 50 people
 Handed out the remainder of the bookmarks after the Easter
masses
 Still working on the Homeward Bound program
 Idea: to have Father Klima present before/after Religious Ed
classes
Liturgy-Deacon Hector Raymond
 Holy week services were beautiful and everyone did a great
job

 Moving to the PAC in May, and will have training for all the
ministries
 Given up on the skeleton key
 Review the updated calendar
 Baccalaureate was taken out because the dates kept
conflicting with school activities
 The last liturgy will be Confirmation
 Food Truck Frenzy will be held after masses on June 5
Respect Life
 Will present flowers for the nursing home on May 14
 Many boxes of clothing were collected and donated
 An evening with Matt Walsh June 13 at Villa Milano for
fundraiser
Finance –Dennis O’Connor
 Income is $921,100 better than budget
o Offertory is down
 Expenses are $55,700 better than budget
 Net $976,700 better than budget
 Will be setting up the budget for next year, and will try to keep
the expenses down
SPY-Chuck Janes
 End of year High School Retreat is this weekend at Camp
Otterbein
 Religious Ed end of year parties will be held April 25 and 26
 Leadership Team Retreat is August 5-7 at the Hartland Retreat
Center and is open to anyone with 3+ years in SPY
 Car washes are June 12, July 17 and August 24
o Will have kids inside for anyone wanting to make a
donation

 Leadership Team celebration is Sunday, June 5 after the 11:15
mass
 June 26 is the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament at Church of the
Resurrection
 Modifying to adults providing guidance for leadership
Technology and Communication – Aaron Christy
 Divine Mercy Sunday had 50 you tube views and 300 podcast
downloads
 Jim McQuade put up a new page for the renovation
 Cameras were ordered for the church for hourly snapshots of
construction
Old Business
Renovation
 Tremendous amount of work going on
 Big construction meeting tomorrow morning
 Letter is written and the contract will be ready for the Bishop
tomorrow
 Still some issues pending
 We are basically rebuilding the church
 Father will talk more about the project with the Parish
 We need a new roof- The new one will last 40 years guaranteed
 Father trusts the companies we are working with
 HVAC system will be more efficient
 Father is very impressed with Corna Kokosing’s dedication
 Nursery will remain open during construction, but we need
people to staff it
 May extend Adoration on the first Fridays once we see how
things work
 Keep this process and all the people involved in your prayers

New Member Welcome Reception
 Went very well with 20 adults and many children
 The children and Betty had a good time playing outside
 A couple asked about a Book Club
 Father says there is a lot of good literature he could
recommend
 The idea is very welcome; this is another area of growth for our
parish
 Open discussion on Facebook: Are you interested in a Book
Club?
 Add a block to the calling list response page: incorrect phone
number
 Carol will call everyone to thank them for attending
Easter/Holy Week
 5:00 Good Friday service was well attended
 Multiple cross adoration stations worked well

Pastoral Council Member Status
 This is Annette’s and Bill last year-Thank you for your service
 President has option of 2 years? Judi will research old notes to
find the amendment wording

 Sheila does not want to be President as she has too much on
her plate
 We have 3 names from last year that Sheila will call to see if
they are interested to be considered
 Nominations will be closed, if these 3 are interested
Concerns of Council
 Susan Kolb will take minutes at the May meeting, Judi will not
be there
 Betty has the name and number of someone needing help
washing windows
Concerns of Pastor
 Wednesday, June 8 at 6:30pm will be the Commissions Picnic
Book Discussion
 Will continue with Chapter 4 at the next meeting
