www.bats.org.uk/fundraise Gingerbread bats You will need:• 100 grams treacle • 85 grams butter • 100 grams sugar • 200 grams plain flour • Teaspoon of ginger • Lemon juice You will also need a card template. You can trace the shapes here, or draw your own. 1. Mix flour, sugar and ginger in a large bowl. 2. Gently melt the butter, sugar and treacle together and then add to the large bowl. 3. Mix the contents of the bowl well until a smooth consistency . 4. Roll the mixture our thinly and cut into bat shapes. 5. Bake in a very low oven on a lightly oiled tray at around 160ᵒC, until the gingerbread is crisp. 6. Adorn the bats with cake decorations and enjoy! Always ask an adult’s permission to work in the kitchen, and to use the oven. Wear oven gloves when taking out hot trays.
