America’s reasons
• After The Great War, most Americans
thought that they shouldn’t get involved any
more.
• They thought involvement in someone
else’s war was enough.

America’s Reasons
Cont.
• When America got involved with other
nations, it seemed their situation seemed to
worsen.
• Due to these, America decided to be
neutral and not be involved in any other
nations affairs.

US Isolation
• To get isolated, the US cut down the
number of immigrants, didn’t join in the
league of nations, and had almost the entire
nation just sit back and worry about their
own country.

Harding and Coolidge
administration
• Harding- clearly stated that they would not
be involved in League of Nations, which
was clearly stepping to isolationism.
• Coolidge- one of main goals of presidency
was to keep America “from any foreign
entanglements,” he also created a foreign
policy of isolation in foreign policy
(December 1923) which basically means he
made the US more isolated.

Conclusion
• Basically, after WW1, the United States
wanted to stay out of affairs in Europe,
Asia, and everywhere else. They wanted to
focus on their own growth and well being,
not some other countries.
