The West Virginia Wine and Jazz Fest, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that seeks to return the proceeds from the annual festival
back to the community in various ways. During the past twenty years of music, wine and fun we have been given the chance to
reach out to the community and help many deserving groups and individuals. These include endowed scholarships to the WVU
School of Music, sponsorship of educational endeavors and classes at WVU, free concerts for area middle/high schools,
sponsorship of various student and community organizations that assist with the festival, etc.
---------- 2016 POSTER COMPETITION ENTRY FORM ----------
Eligibility: All artists living or enrolled in school in the state of West Virginia are invited to submit artwork for consideration as the
official poster image for the 2016 West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival. An application for entry and digital art must be submitted by
midnight, June 15, 2016.
Artwork should represent the West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival and portray
the spirit of the event, including wine, jazz and the flavor and culture of the State of West Virginia.
Theme or Subject of Entry:
Entry Guidelines: All entries must be submitted digitally in a .jpg or .pdf format (cannot exceed 10MB). Must use a high resolution
when designing image on the computer (Winning image will be enlarged to an 11x17 poster, printed on t-shirts and other items).
Only two-dimensional artwork will be considered. All two-dimensional media accepted, including painting, drawing, collage,
photography, computer-generated design, etc. The artwork MUST include the following text “West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival
2016”. The size of original artwork should be minimum 8 1/2” x 11”, maximum 11” x 17”. A copy of your completed entry form (on
following page) must be submitted along with the artwork. The West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival Committee will retain possession
and all legal rights to the winning entry, including all reproduction and photographic rights, with artwork credit for any published use
given to the artist. The artwork will be used on flyers, posters, tee shirts, wine glasses, etc. (Please keep in
mind the artwork will be used for “spot printing” not four color process. Graphic art works better for this).
Adjudication: The West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival Committee will judge all entries. Entries will be judged on innovative handling
of the subject, mood, concept, craftsmanship, reproducibility, and adherence to competition guidelines.
Awards: Recognition as the official 2016 West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival Poster Artist; $500 cash award.




Submission of Entry Form and Artwork: An application for entry (below) must be submitted along with the artwork
by midnight, June 15, 2016 via email to [email protected].
Submission of original Artwork: A request for the original artwork might be as early as June 15, 2016 pending on
notification.
Awards Notification: Winning artist will be notified by July 30, 2016.
Other Information You Should Know
Submissions that do not meet the deadline or technical specifications will be disqualified.
Additional Terms and Conditions: By participating in the contest, you agree to release and hold harmless any affiliate of the West
Virginia Wine and Jazz Festival, affiliates, agents and advertising and promotional agencies from any and all damages, injuries,
claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this contest, including infringement of intellectual
property rights. The West Virginia Wine and Jazz Festival, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies assume no
responsibility or liability for any damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind arising in whole or in part from
this contest.
Copyright: Entries must be submitted by the original artist. You must be the sole owner of the art piece or image you submit and
the submission of the art piece and the entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the art. The
West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the artist. The West Virginia Wine &
Jazz Festival reserves the right to alter the final poster design or to reject all submissions for final poster design. If you have any
