Una Church of Christ June 7, 2015 Standing Up and Speaking Out Lesson - Standing Up for Your Beliefs What are you willing to stand up for? Your friends, your political beliefs, social injustice, maybe acts of global terrorism? Sure we would stand up for those things. We’d even get rather vocal about them, but are you willing to stand up for your religious beliefs? We probably want to, but fear stops us. The world tells us to remain quiet and keep our Christian beliefs to ourselves and we listen. Text - Acts 8:9-13 ! In Acts we find Peter standing up for what he believes. There was a new Christian who had been a magician. His ‘power’ was not real, but when he saw the power of the Apostles he had to have it. If he had this gift like the Apostles he knew that he could be rich. When he asked for that privilege Peter rebukes this brother. Peter knew the wickedness that was in him. Now is the time for Christians to follow Peter’s lead and stand up for what we believe in.
