Dear Parents and Students,
The following pages summarize a variety of scholarships that were available last year to Old
Saybrook High School students. The applications and/or criteria for these scholarships can be
found in Naviance, on the sponsor’s website, or in the guidance office. Scholarships change
annually and the information will be updated as it is received.
In addition to the scholarships listed in this booklet, there are many more you should research. We
urge you and your family to consult various publications such as The Scholarship Book (Prentice
Hall), College Board (www.collegeboard.org), Financial Aid Information Page (www.finaid.org),
Fast WEB Scholarship Sources (www.fastweb.com), Mapping Your Future (www.mapping-yourfuture.org), Sallie Mae (www.salliemae.com), and Teri (www.teri.org). It is also important for you
to investigate sources of scholarship money through organizations you belong to, your place of
employment, and the internet.
Local Old Saybrook scholarships are announced to our students as they are received. Please check
PowerSchool daily for announcements as well as the Naviance website (some scholarships have
already been posted there).
We hope this information proves helpful and we encourage you to take a proactive role in
researching and applying for these and other scholarships. We are always available to answer any
