Introduction
Parents and teachers alike will find this book to be a valuable learning tool. Children will enjoy completing
a wide variety of rhyming activities that are both engaging and educational. The activities include mazes,
hidden pictures, matching, cutting and pasting, and other fun ways to learn about rhyming through word
families. While engaged in these activities, children are afforded practice in recognizing patterns in words
rather than sounding them out letter by letter, decoding through analogy by using what they know about
one word to decode another word, and building vocabulary. If this book is not being reproduced, be sure to
check that the activity on the opposite side of an activity requiring cutting has been completed. Take a
look at the Table of Contents and you will feel rewarded providing such a valuable resource for your
children. Remember to praise children for their efforts and successes!
