Dear Dieter
The gear is packed away, the costs and expenses have been counted, and it is with a huge sense of gratitude and joy
that we can tell you the official verdict: The Nedbank Tour de Tuli 2015 exceeded expectations on all fronts! And its
success is in no small part due to our valued sponsors and donors. As you know, the Nedbank Tour de Tuli is a fourday mountain bike tour that gives cyclists the opportunity to cycle through true wilderness areas as well as interact
with communities living alongside them.
The Tour attracts cyclists from the higher LSM groups, with corporates using the event as an opportunity to form
relationships with clients, as well as strengthen work relationships amongst colleagues. It offers excellent networking
platforms for the cyclists where they get the opportunity to meet industry leaders, while forging many new
friendships and long-lasting relationships along the way.
There are many benefits to riding the Tour, however our primary reason for arranging the event is to raise muchneeded funds for our beloved Children in the Wilderness programme. Over the past 10 years we have managed to
raise an average of R1.5 million per event and this has only been possible because of the generous support and
sponsorship from organisations such as Coleman. In our view, this event will have a lasting and significant impact on
the area, its people and its wildlife.
As you can imagine, the logistics of organising an event like this are considerable – and this year was no exception:
from ensuring that hot and dusty cyclists keep well-hydrated, to hosting 500 people in three different countries,
setting up five temporary bush camps offering comfortable, luxury facilities – the list is endless.
The support of all involved was critical to its success – and this includes you: thanks to your sponsorship and
contribution, we were able to pull it off. This truly was a team event and the involvement, enthusiasm and
commitment from all who participated – whether on the front lines or behind the scenes – is incredible. THANK YOU.
We would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks for your support and partnering with us. You have made a
difference both to the area and its future. Of course, by your actions, you have also made a difference to the lives of
the children of remote rural areas who will be the ultimate beneficiaries of the bike ride. We are certainly excited
about the opportunities that we have with this project and the potential impact has on the lives of many children.
So from us a big thank you and we hope that you will partner with us again next year.
Many thanks and kind regards
Chris Crewdson
