DEPARTMENT 22 – CONTESTS AND TRACK EVENTS
SECTION 3-A — LIVESTOCK COSTUME CONTEST

Saturday September 3, 6:00 P.M. Livestock Arena
Open to any livestock entered in 2016 Big Knob Grange Fair. Animal plus owner must be
dressed in costume to be eligible. Classes by animal species will be determined after sign
up, All entries must be in the Livestock Office by Tuesday August 30 at 10pm. If you are
not signed up you will not be entered in the class. Goats, Rabbits, Cattle, Swine, Sheep,
and Alpaca are welcome to enter. We will determine groups and species if we get enough
entries in that species. Classes will be judged 50% on originality, 30% on construction,
and 20% on appearance. Classes and groups will be available by Wednesday, August 31,
2016 by 5pm at the Livestock Office. Turn in a 3X5 card with exhibitor, name of animal and
costume information by Friday September 2, 2016.

SECTION 3-B - HORSE COSTUME CONTEST
Saturday, September 3, 6:00 P.M. Livestock Arena
Open to any breed or size of horse entered in the 2016 Fair, and any age owner. Horses or
ponies must be lead, not ridden, and will walk or stand for the entire class. This class will be
judged 50% on originality, 30% on construction, and 20% on appearance. Please be sure
costume is safe for the horse and the exhibitor. Handler must have complete control of horse
at all times. If there is problem with horse during judging, contestant will be asked to
leave the ring. Participants and horses must both be in costume. One horse and one exhibitor
per entry. No pets allowed as part of any entry. Classes may be divided at discretion of
Committee.
Turn in a 3X5 card with exhibitor, name of animal and costume information by Friday
September 3.

HAY EATING CONTEST

BACK AGAIN – FARM OLYMPICS
SATURDAY AFTERNOON – TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED
Each team must have 6 participants to compete against other teams. The Team is
free to select a “G” rated name and wear t-shirts that are the same color. There will
be seven (7) events for all to see which Team (Family) is the best farm family. Events
will be posted Saturday morning. Each member of the Team must participate in at
least one event, and 1 event will be for all members of the Team.
Time for the event will be determined by the number of Teams that enter. Enter the
Farm Olympics by calling Gina at 724 462 4984 and register your Team name and
color. No substitutions permitted. This is a timed event.
First – GOLD, Second – SILVER, Third – BRONZE, special prize for last place!

Event begins at 7:00. Bleacher seating: $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
Gates open at 6:00 for participants. Entry fee - $10. Pit pass for 1 helper per ATV - $10.

RULES:
1. All riders must have a helmet with full-face shield or helmet with goggles.
2. Must have leather boots (no tennis shoes), long sleeve shirt, pants, and gloves.
3. If you have safety gear for riding wear it.
4. This is a timed event and judge’s decision is final.
5. Must sign a release from liability.
6. Participants under 16 years of age must have released signed by parent or guardian.
The parent or guardian must attend the drivers meeting along with the participant.
7. Must be a stock appearing ATV.
The Big Knob Grange and The Big Knob Grange Fair are not responsible for you
or your equipment if hurt or damaged.
