They will learn to bring their story to life with African performance elements like dramatic narration, banter, chant, recitation, song, music, and movement. By the end of the workshop pupils will be ready for their debut storytelling showcase - a snippet of their story performed in front of their class. Githanda has performed at major storytelling events internationally. He is the Creative Manager at Zamaleo ACT - a performing arts & culture organisation in Eastern Africa. Emily Hennessey – KS1 & 2 Scandinavian storyteller Emily explores Norse mythology and Scandinavian folktales to unlock new myths and creative writing from the minds of her pupils. Her immersive workshop leads pupils to create their own myths after exploring the basics of story; character, theme, structure and of course the imagination… The pupils are the storytellers. They will create new pieces of creative writing with a richer use of language and imagery expanding into the world of gods, magic and adventure. Emily’s recent performances include the Royal Opera House, the Viking Ship in Denmark and Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival.
