At Windhoek International Airport, your tour guide welcomes you in Namibia and briefly explains the itinerary. Then

guide will invite you to a city tour through Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. You will also have to chance to visit
Diamond Works and the Craft Center. The Diamond Works is a place you can discover, explore and experience the
ancient art of diamond cutting and jewellery manufacturing. A tour of the Diamond Works also provides the unique
opportunity to purchase world class diamonds and jewellery for yourself and your loved ones. The Craft Center is
shopper’s paradise for tourists in Windhoek! It is a must to search here for souvenirs such as leather work,
embroidery, carvings, ceramics of all kinds, fabric painting and egg-arts (ostrich eggs as objets d'art). Some of the local
artists here can be watched during their work, a large part of their works can be viewed in the attached Omba gallery.
In the evening, you will enjoy a wonderful dinner together with your guide at one of Sangwali Private Safari’s favorite
restaurants in Windhoek.

lies a clay pan within the Namib-Naukluft National Park called the Sossusvlei. “Vlei” in Afrikaans means a shallow
depression filled with water. Sossusvlei is a mud pan created by a river that flows through the Namib every 5 - 10
years. The Sossusvlei is definitely an excellent reason to visit the vast space, endless horizons, dramatic desert scapes
and jagged mountain heights of Namibia.
Accommodation: Sossusvlei Lodge or Hoodia Desert Lodge
Sossusvlei Lodge lies directly at the entrance to Namib Naukluft Park and is therefore ideal for visits to Sossusvlei and
Sesriem Canyon. The 50 rooms have been designed with the soaring desert temperatures in mind, providing efficient
air circulation. Each room has a shaded veranda with a view on the nearby dunes.
Hoodia Desert Lodge lies at the Tsauchab River, about 20 km from Sesriem and Sossusvlei. 12 luxury en-suite and air
conditioned tented bungalows offer you the privilege of privacy and relaxation. Each bungalow comes with a private
open air bathroom and a shaded porch. In the restaurant you can enjoy exquisite traditional and international cuisine
accompanied by a wide selection of South African wines.

Day 4
Today, you will see the beauty of the Namib Desert, driving along the Namib Rand which divides the semi-desert where
mainly sheep-farming is done and the harsh Namib Desert. You will pass through the Gaub Canyon and the Kuiseb
Canyon. The Kuiseb Canyon became known by the two German geologists Henno Martin and Hermann Korn. During
the Second World War they hid here from the threat of internment. Their book, “Wenn es Krieg gibt, gehen wir in die
Wüste” (If there is war, we go into the desert) is one of Namibia's most famous oevres. You will also visit the famous
Welwitschia mirabilis, a 1 000 year old expectant desert plant that is found only in the Namib. This primordial plant
lives on sea fog, but it also takes moisture from the upper soil layer via its fine root system. In the afternoon, you will
arrive at Swakopmund: this city is a beach resort and an example of German colonial architecture. It was founded in
1892 as the main harbor for German South-West Africa, and a sizable part of its population is still German-speaking
today.
Accommodation: Swakopmund Guesthouse or Namib Guesthouse
Situated in the town centre, a mere five-minute walk from the beach and main shopping area, Swakopmund
Guesthouse is owned and run by the Borg family. It has been completely revamped to offer four standard rooms, seven
luxury rooms and one family suite for guests wanting to indulge in a comfortable stay-over close to the ocean. The
spacious rooms are fitted with crisp, white linen sheets. The en-suite bathrooms with soft cream walls are decorated
with beach pebbles that give them a unique atmosphere.

Harbor Desert Tour (exclusive) or Living Desert Tour (exclusive)

Day 6
Leaving Swakopmund, you will be driving along the Namib coast for about 70 km eastwards into Damaraland, home of
the Damara people and a desert and semi-desert area located in the northwestern part of Namibia, roughly speaking
between the Skeleton Coast and the Etosha National Park. In Damaraland, Namibia's highest mountain is located, the
Brandberg. However, the most famous highlight are the 2 400 - 6 000 year old rock paintings and engravings of the
San (Bushmen) at Twyfelfontein. Scientists believe that the art works have been carved deep into the sandstone with
quartz stones within six different periods. A few miles away you can find the famous Organ Pipes: these are basalt
columns, in the middle of a river bed, that are about five meters high and over 100 million years old. After having seen
the Organ Pipes, you will also have the chance to visit the Petrified Forest: situated about 40 km west of Khorixas in
northwest Namibia, lies a small area containing over 50 fossilised tree trunks over 250 million years old. They are
thought to have been deposited into a silica rich environment at the site by flood water from areas further north, and
were excluded from contact with oxygen which prevented decay.

relaxing in the folds of the crisp white bed, enjoying a romantic dinner under the stars or throwing caution to the wind
in the open-air bush bathroom, you'll be delighted by this unique bush experience.
Optional Activities: Meals inclusive: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 7
After the breakfast, you will be visiting Twyfelfontein, the Organ Pipes and the Petrified Forest. Afterwards, you drive
via Khorixas to Outjo where you can have your lunch break. Then, you enter the South Gate, the Andersson Gate, of
the Etosha National Park: this park is one of Southern Africa's finest and most important Game Reserves. Etosha
Game Park was declared a national park in 1907. Covering an area of 22 270 km 2, it is home to 114 mammal species,
340 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and one species of fish. Etosha, meaning "Great White
Place", is dominated by a massive mineral pan. The Etosha Pan covers around 25 % of the National Park and it was
originally a lake fed by the Kunene River. Nowadays, the pan is a large dusty depression of salt which fills only if the
rains are heavy and even then only holds water for a short time. This temporary water in the Etosha Pan attracts
thousands of wading birds including impressive flocks of flamingos.
Accommodation: Okaukuejo Rest Camp
Okaukuejo Rest Camp is located 17 km from the southern entrance of the Etosha National Park, and famous for its
flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting.
Accommodation is provided to suit every need, in premier bush chalets overlooking the waterhole. Other facilities
include a restaurant, bar, shop, swimming pool, kiosk and camping facilities.
Optional Activities: PM Game Drive in the Etosha National Park (inclusive)
Meals inclusive: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 8
Today, you use the whole day in Etosha National Park for an extensive game viewing, while driving east towards
Okaukuejo: Here is the administrative and research center of the park. The almost 23 000 km 2 of park is one of the
largest national parks in Africa and includes a variety of landscapes and habitats. Almost all mammals, reptiles and
insects in southern Africa can be found here in their natural environment. Within the park is the Etosha pan, a more
than 4 000 km2 basin with highly saline soil – these grey-white flats with their mirages and passing-through animals
will be an unforgettable experience for you.
Accommodation: Okaukuejo
Optional Activities: Meals inclusive: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 9
After an early breakfast, you experience the beauty of the Etosha National Park as well as of the Etosha Pan whilst
driving from Okaukuejo eastwards via Halali to Namutoni: The Fort Namutoni (often only Namutoni) is the former
police and military station. Today it is the visitors center of the National Park and an overnight camp for visitors. The
name corresponds to the free translation "the high site" in the language of the Ovambo people, as the spring is located
on a limestone hill. Namutoni was built in 1897 by the former German colonial administration as a mark of the
northern boundary of the German spheres of influence and as a checkpoint against the encroachment of cattle plague
from the northern Ovambo areas. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park, driving to your next accommodation.
Accommodation: Emanya @ Etosha Game Lodge
The luxurious Emanya @ Etosha Game is a 5-star safari lodge situated a mere 20 minutes' drive from the Lindequist
gate to the renowned Etosha National Park. The lodge is spacious and bright colors, mediated by large windows and a
pleasant feeling of spaciousness. The 20 chalets, each with large bathrooms, are stylishly decorated. For refreshment
after dusty rides in the Etosha National Park is a swimming pool at the guests’ disposal. Allow them to spoil you with a
foot massage upon your return from a game drive in Etosha. Taste superior wines in their wine cellar, and enjoy the
scrumptious meals of master chefs – privately, if you prefer. Discover true rejuvenation at the foot spa, and luxuriate
beside the limpid pool at sunset.
Optional Activities: Meals inclusive: Breakfast
Day 10
You leave the semi-arid savannah grassland of the Etosha National Park, driving north-east via Tsumeb and
Grootfontein to Rundu: Grootfontein is the centre for a large cattle farming community while copper mining is also
prevalent in the area. The section of Namibia around Tsumeb, Otavi and Grootfontein is often referred to as the “Otavi
Triangle”. Probably the town is best known for being situated 20 km from the Hoba Meteorite - the world's largest

meteorite. Discovered by Jacobus Hermanus Brits in the 1920s the meteorite is 3 m long, 1 m wide and weighs around
50 tons.
Rundu is the capital of the Kavango Region, northern Namibia, on the border with Angola on the banks of the
Okavango River.
Accommodation: Hakusembe River Lodge
Hakusembe River Lodge is located at the Okavango River, boundary river to Angola. From the lodge with its lush

mosquito nets and air conditioner combined with a peaceful setting, provide the ideal venue for the guests.
Optional Activities: Meals inclusive: Breakfast
Day 11
Driving eastwards, you will discover the Caprivi Strip, the Bwabwata National Park and the Kavango people who are
known for their woodcrafts. The Caprivi Strip is a narrow strip of land in the far northeast of Namibia, about 400 km
long. The German Empire acquired the area in 1890 - together with Helgoland - from the British in exchange for
Zanzibar. It was named after the German chancellor Graf von Caprivi, who signed the contract with the English.
During the rainy season, the Caprivi has high rainfall. At the same time, high temperatures predominate, then the
weather is often hot and muggy. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for the Caprivi. The Caprivi is the region with
the most water in Namibia. The reason for this is not only the rainfall but also a number of major rivers like the
Okavango, Kwando and Zambezi, all originating in Angola.
The Bwabwata National Park is actually an amalgamation of the Mahango and the Western Caprivi Game Park. It
spans 5 000 km2 between the Okavango and Kwando rivers. In fact, the whole of the Western Caprivi is a reserve
today. The Trans Caprivi highway runs through the park and although no permit is necessary to use the road, there
are no fences! The park has elephants, hyenas, hippos, buffaloes, antelopes, lions and leopards. West Caprivi is a
birdwatchers paradise, where approximately 339 species of birds have been identified.
Accommodation: Susuwe Island Lodge
Susuwe Island Lodge is situated on the Kwando River within Bwabwata National Park. The main area is set under a
lofty canopy of trees with elevated decks overlooking the Kalahari woodlands and Kwando flood plains. The spacious
chalets have a double bedroom, bathroom and lounge area, where the guests can relax. Each unit has a private deck,
with spectacular views. Each of these wooden decks has its own plunge pool.

River (inclusive)

true African nature of the region offers a safari experience of a lifetime. The park is divided into four distinctly different
eco systems: Serondela with its lush plains and dense forests in the Chobe River area in the extreme northeast; the
