2016 Camp Akela Pack Pre-Registration Details
Cub Scout Resident Camp, AKA Camp Akela, can offer a young Scout memories that will last his lifetime.
From swimming and fishing in the lake to sharpening his shooting sports skills, and all the special theme related activities, there is nothing better than Camp Akela at Sinoquipe. The ONLY thing that makes this experience better is to be a part of it with friends and leaders from the same Unit. To promote a better experience
registration will be open to Units from Monday, January 4th to Friday, March 4th only. Akela registration
must be completed by the Pack Cubmaster or Committee Chair only during this time. On Monday, March
7th, registration will be open for individuals.
Our beloved Camp Sinoquipe is a wonderful place; but, it is bound by size as to how many Scouts can enjoy
her at one time. Last year we closed one session due to high attendance, and because of our boost in new
Cub Scouts this year along with a VERY popular theme, both sessions are sure to sell out. I anticipate turning
away Cub Scouts this year for the first time ever. It is imperative that your Pack be proactive, discuss Camp
Akela, and get families signed up early or risk not being able to participate.
Preregistration is simple. Just fill out a reservation form and prepay the per-person reservation fee. Two
adults can preregister with the first three Scouts, then one additional adult can preregister for every four
boys attending. Extra adults will be allowed to register after March 4th based on availability. I know this
may be a hardship for some, but I would much rather tell a parent they cannot come to camp rather than a
Cub Scout. Also each Pack is allowed one Den Chief to preregister. Additional Den Chiefs can register after
March 4th based on availability.

Registration fee—$25, NON-REFUNDABLE per Cub Scout registered. Fee is transferable to another nonregistered Scout/Leader. Pre-registered participants must pay balance before June 17, 2016 or are responsible for late fees.
