Instructions:
Cut out the pattern pieces
according to the pattern
directions (6 wedges and 2
half circles for base pieces).
Stitch together 2 of the
wedges to form one large
piece. You will be centering
your design 14" up from the
bottom. We made the seam
our vertical axis, and placed
the letters on either side of it.

Place, cut, and sew out your
applique letters onto the
fabric.
After you have finished the
embroidery, join together the
rest of the wedge pieces to
form the body of the
beanbag, according to step 2
of the pattern directions.
Now, digressing from the
pattern, I decided to add a
zipper and a flap to reinforce
it. If you think that's a good
idea, cut out an additional 25"
by 3" strip from your
fabric. Turn over 3/8" on one
long edge and press. Then do
a narrow hem on the other
long edge. Stitch the hook
side of the fastener along the
hemmed edge.
Now, pick up your base
pieces and insert the zipper
between the two pieces,
where the seam would
normally be. Stitch the loop
half of the hook and loop
fastener right alongside the
zipper.
Place the pressed edge of the
strip along the opposite side
of the zipper, and stitch in
place so that the hook and
loop fastener meets. This will
help the zipper to stay closed
so the peanuts won't leak out.

Now meet the edges of the
bottom piece with the body of
the beanbag, right sides
together, and stitch. (Step 4
of the pattern
directions.) Don't forget to
leave the zipper at least partway open, so that you can
turn the bag right side out.
After you have turned the
bag, fill with packing peanuts,
sit back, and enjoy in
comfort.
Editor's Note: This project
really takes a lot of packing
peanuts! When I started this
project, I had what I thought
was a ton of packing peanuts
at my house, more than
enough to fill the bag. But I
underestimated and had to go
out and find even more!!
