to respond. Asking “What does the cow say?” may also illicit a response.
• Use the drum, mallet, and maraca to encourage accompanying the song
in a variety of ways.
• Repeat the song using the recording. Sing as many verses as desired.

Farmer Brown’s Cow
Little Clown/And He Dances
Old Farmer Brown he had a cow
Had a cow, had a cow
But she got sick I don’t know how
All she said was Moo!
We know you’re hiding in there
We know you’re crouching down
We really want to see you!
Come out!
Little clown
Hey, hey, hey
Wouldn’t you say
That would make it go away?
Hey, hey, hey
Wouldn’t you say
That’s all for today!
Her friend the pig brought chocolate cake
Chocolate cake, chocolate cake
To see if that would help her ache
But all she said was Moo!
Her friend the hen brought an egg
Brought an egg, brought an egg
To see if that would help her leg
But all she said was Moo!
Her friend the duck brought some bread
Brought some bread, brought some bread
To see if that would help her head
But all she said was Moo!
Her friend the sheep, she brought some grain
Brought some grain, brought some grain
To see if that would help her pain
But all she said was Moo
Now you may want to sing some more
Sing some more, sing some more
But now her throat is feeling sore
Cause all she said was Moo!

Somebody’s Knockin’
Somebody’s knockin’ at my door
Somebody’s knockin’ at my door
Oh, children
Why don’t you answer
Somebody’s knockin’ at my door
Row Your Boat
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream
Round and Round the Garden
Here is a fishbowl
In it are some fish
Swimmin’ ‘round and ‘round
With a swish, swish, swish
How many fishes do you see?
How many fishes
Count with me!
Goin’ on a Bike Ride

Goin’ on a bike ride
Goin’ on a bike ride
Who do you see?

Grandma’s on a bike ride
Grandma’s on a bike ride
Grandma’s on a bike ride
Ridin’ with me!
The Grand Old Duke of York
The Grand Ol’ Duke of York
He had ten thousand men
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And marched them down again
And when you’re up, you’re up
And when you’re down, you’re down
And when you’re only halfway up
You’re neither up nor down
He marched them to the left
He marched them to the right
He marched them all the way upside down
Oh, what a silly sight!
Ten Fish in the Sea
One little, two little, three little fishes
Four little, five little, six little fishes
Seven little, eight little, nine little fishes
Ten fish in the sea!
They jumped up high to catch some bugs
They jumped up high to catch some bugs
They jumped up high to catch some bugs
Ten fish in the sea!
They swam all around, all around in a circle (repeat)
Ten fish in the sea!
They swam down low to hide in the seaweed (repeat)
Ten fish in the sea!

The Ship Goes Sailing
Come, my friends
And gather ‘round
So we can sing goodbye
The ship goes sailing on the sea
It sails for you, it sails for me
The waves go up
The waves go down
The waves go rolling all around
And the lightning flash
And the thunder crash
And the ship
The ship… (begin again)

We’ll sing and dance
Another day
So long, farewell

Babies Make Music
Lesson Plan 40
The last lesson of the school year is “request day.” In lesson 39, ask each class if they have favorites they
would like to do the following week. In addition, or instead, you can send out an email and ask them to
reply with any of their favorites for “Request Day.” Be prepared to teach your own favorites if there are no
requests or you have additional time after doing the parents favorites. You can also ask parents to share one
of their own favorite songs, not necessarily from the Simply Music Rhapsody lessons.

and then play a very loud beat or accent on the last beat, "ming." Verses can be made up for the next section.

Free play or improvisation happens on the rests with fermatas; playas long as desired at these "breaks."
Make up additional verses using the colors and shapes and other ways to play that are appropriate for your
group.
Suggestions for another verse:
They played on the rim,
They played in the middle,
They played up high,
They played down low.
They played while spinning,
They played while jumping,
Ten musicians playing.
