In my classwork I will:
- Explore the features of Gothic stories so that I know the common
ingredients (conventions). Research some of the most famous Gothic writers.

In my classwork I will:
Read a selection of examples from Gothic literature. Analyse how writers use
sentences and vocabulary for maximum effect. I will then use these
techniques in my own writing.
Week 3:

Examine how a writer creates an interesting character through their use of
devices, vocabulary and speech. I will use similar techniques in my own
writing.

Explore how a writer creates and builds tension by looking at examples of
gothic literature. Examine the effects of different sentences, punctuation and
vocabulary. Use these skills in my own writing.

Examine how writers create atmosphere in their writing by exploring
