INDUSTRIAL SITES:
Putnam Township is primarily a rural community with an interest in preserving the natural
character and beauty found in the area. As a result of these goals and initiatives, industrial
uses will generally be limited to those areas that may be served by public utilities. Certain
industrial uses may be permitted without utilities, but usually be restricted to those
operations that do not require large scale waste disposal or water use, such as auto repair
businesses and small machine and fabricating shops. Should the Township ever consider
such an intense use, it should be in an area where public utilities already exist or can be
easily extended.
