important and much needed Trade Shows in Bangladesh, has organized again in Bangladesh its `POWER
Series of Exhibitions’ which are also being organized in Sri Lanka and Indonesia – the `3rd Power
Bangladesh 2010 International Expo’ – focusing and devoted to the development of Power Generation &
Transmission, Alternative Power, PV Power,
Energy and Renewable Energy sectors of Bangladesh, at the Bangabandhu
International Conference Centre from October 14 ~ 16, 2010.
`3rd Power Bangladesh 2010 International Expo’ was fully supported by the `Power
Division – Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources – Government of the
People’s Republic of Bangladesh’.

Giving special emphasis on PV Power and Renewable Energy, for which a new policy has come in place, for
encouraging investment in this sector to generate electricity from renewable sources to meet an ever-growing

The Bangladesh Government has prepared a plan for the next five years for development of the power
sector, which would involve an amount of over US$6 billion for generation, transmission and distribution.
Also, the Government’s plans on installing rental power plants are already underway.
Hence with display of latest innovations and technology of the world in Power & Energy sector in `3rd
Power Bangladesh 2010 International Expo’, the Expo played an important role in familiarizing our local
entrepreneurs with the newest technology right at our doorsteps, in this highly potential sector of our
Country with a huge scope for expansion. The Government also wants to seek new technology with
emphasis on tapping the alternative energy sources for Power Generation like coal-fired power plants or
any other source, which would take a big load off our existing gas reserves.

Besides Exhibitors from over 16 countries, there will also be visitors
coming to Bangladesh from different parts of the World to visit the `3rd
Power Bangladesh 2010 Expo’ to familiarize themselves with the Power
& Energy sector of Bangladesh and see the Investment climate where
the Government is encouraging Foreign Investments in the Power &
Energy sector of Bangladesh and urging the Business community to go
for Joint-Ventures, which would not only further expand our Power
Generation capacity but also support the Government’s poverty
alleviation programme by generating more employment. As per
statements of the Government, they will provide necessary cooperation
to our Business community who will come forward to set up small and
independent power plants as the Government has already adopted a
policy on power generation through public-private partnership.
The Expo brings world-class technology to Bangladesh which
would be beneficial to upgrade our Power & Energy sector and also
play an important role by assembling the entire business community
of Bangladesh from all the industry sectors of our country under one
roof thus creating a one-of-a-kind networking opportunity ever seen
in Bangladesh and to appraise them of the latest developments and
technology available in the sector.
