Physis is really super. Do. Gregory is a most interesting
leturer and goes frequently into the philosophial reasons for
knowing anything anyway it's miles more satisfatory than
learning strings of fats in an orderly manner and never knowing
why anyone knows it. ... In other words doing the very opposite
from the unbearable shool attitude.

Note on Beatrie Tinsley
In 1967 Sandage took a trip to the University of Texas to give a
talk about osmology. Before he ould speak, a young woman, a
graduate student, stood up and told the audiene that everything
they were about to hear was wrong. Sandage was stunned and
outraged - an outrage he was never to forget.
The woman who announed herself into Sandage's life so
unforgettably was Beatrie Tinsley.
I don't think it is weakness to be motivated by emotions. What
else is the driving fore, or inspiration to think of useful theories?
Only if emontional attahment to one's own theory makes one
blind to alternatives is bad

AUTHORS: R C King et al
We have pleasure in informing you that your Paper has been
provisionally aepted for publiation in Journal of Physis A:
Mathematial and General. ...If, however, you do not wish to
make any further hanges in response to the omments, then
please let us know right away. The present version of the artile
will then be automatially aepted for publiation.
First Referee's Report on A/131335/PAP
Without a detailed and onvining motivation, either
mathematial or physial, I annot reommend the publiation of
the paper.

Seond Referee's Report on A/131335/PAP
Sine exeptional groups has physial appliations this material
may be of great interest. I think that this paper an be published
in its present form in Journal of Physis A: Mathematial and
General
Adjudiator's Report on A/131335/PAP
This is a readable, solid, apparently omplete, and oneivably
inspirational work, quite possibly of pratial utility in urrent
gropings for imaginative onstruts involving exeptional algebras
in M-theory. The judgement on potential future appliability is
most often suspended in subjetivity: I read the paper and got
myself thinking for appliations and handles on present problems
I am onsidering, and I do not see why exposure to this type of
high quality paper should be denied to the readers of this journal.
