GREATINGS FROM THE MAYOR
Dear Guests,
It is a great pleasure for us to host you in Istanbul where West meets
East and the past meets the future, taking the opportunity of the
“27th Annual Congress of the International Society for Dermatologic
Surgery in cooperation with the Turkish-Society for Dermatological
Surgery”.
This city, taking pride in being the European Capital of Culture for
2010 is the dowry chest of the civilizations of the world.
As half of the memory of mankind is hidden here, each centimeter
of the city has been embroidered with the hand, wisdom and the
mastermind of the mankind making it a considerably precious
treasure with its aspects.
I am confident that you will feel sad when leaving the city with
remarkable and unerasable memories of Istanbul. We refer to this
feeling as ‘The Fascination of Istanbul’.
A few days you spend in this city, having been described over and over
as a legend for thousands of years, will give you the opportunity to
meet the masterpieces of three big civilizations and the Bosphorus,
the natural beauty merging the two continents, Asia and Europe.
Istanbul, being the host city for both international and national
meetings and congresses, has left behind all of those events
successfully displaying its hospitable nature in the best way
possible.
And now, we take great pride in hosting the ‘27th Annual Congress of
the ISDS in cooperation with the T-SDS’.
Each and every individual definitely has a right to health care of best
standards. An effective health care service of high quality is a sine
qua non for a society.
We put great effort into our projects in public health care in order for
our city to take the position it deserves within the context of Health
Cities Project by World Health Organization.
We serve our people through such projects as “Domestic Health Care
Services”, “Rehabilitation Project for the Disabled”, “Women Health
Protection Project”, “Health Care Services for the Old”, “Vocational
Skill Development Center Project for the Street Children”, “School
Health Scanning Project” mostly focusing on the health care services
for children and women.
I wish that the “27th Annual Congress of the ISDS in cooperation
with the T-SDS”, which I believe will yield very crucial results for the
world of medicine, will be successful and I wish a happy promising
future for the people of the world.
I offer my sincerest love and respect to the participants of the
congress.
