Sensory
Blocks
*For sensory this month we
we will be examining and
playing with real minnows!
Magnet fishing in a "lake"
and digging, dumping and
pouring in Scooby Doo's
food!!
*In our block center this
month some different
items you will find are:
- Barbies to go camping
- fabric squares to make
sleeping bags and tents
- different forest and pond
animals
Math
*Some manipulatives that
will be available in our
classroom this month will
frog, duck and turtle
sorters. Which we will
counting, sorting and
patterning with!
*A fun math game we will
be playing is "What did we
Catch" which involves
catching magnetic fish and
*A fun science activity we
will be doing this month is
creating our own pond in
the classroom! We will also
be observing real worms
while they are in a glass
fish bowl and learning all
about the different
animals you might see at
the pond and in the
forest while camping!
*Also every Wednesday is
water day so we will be
adding fun things for the

Stories
*This month we will be
focusing on our
prewriting skills. We will
do this by using our
fingers to trace, draw and
write letters in different
materials. Such as edible
mud (pudding), sand and
shaving cream!
*We will also be working on
our letter recognition
skills by using matching
game and letter boxes.
*Some of the are projects
you will see this month are
- roasted marshmallow
painting. (Marshmallows
on a stick)
- finger-painting a campfire
- construction paper beach
ball
- fish, frogs, ducks and
other pond and forest
animals!
*We will also be bringing
our art outside which will
include using everything
from paint, watercolors,
crayons and chalk!
*Some stories we are
reading about throughout
the month of June are
camping, pond life,
forest animals and
summer!!
*The children will also each
have a turn to add to a
story while sitting around
a pretend campfire!
Each Wednesday at 9:30 we
will be visiting the school
library to return our old
books and check out new
books to use in the kids
classroom library!

practice our shapes, colors

As a class this month we
will create a list of all the
different items we would
bring on a camping trip!
During the month of June
we will be spending lots of
time outdoors.
Every Tuesday is Park Day
(Please make sure your
child is wearing tennis shoes
and socks)
Wednesday is Water Day!
Friday is Bike Day! ( If
bringing a bike from home
please bring a helmet)
We also will have a Castle
jumper, a field trip to
Pump It Up! As well as one
to Kelley Park in Apple
Valley!
We will also be talking
about some of our
favorite summer activities
and the things we can do to
keep our summer fun and
us safe and healthy!
Including the importance
of sunscreen, a helmet etc.
Song and Dance
On June 11th we will be
joining the entire school
for a summer kick- off
dance party! Which will
have lots of music, dancing,
treats and fun!!
We will be singing and
learning some fun songs
about camping, frogs,
and ducks!
During the first week of
June we will be meeting
in the sanctuary with the
VBS summer campers to
sing songs!
Play dough
Dramatic Play ASL/ Spanish
Bible
This month we will be
making our own sand
play dough!
While using this we will
asking the children to
describe what the
play dough feels like,
smells like, the color etc.
We are going camping
in home living this month!
There will be a real tent
available for the children
to climb in and out of!
Along with real sleeping
bags, picnic items, camping
chairs and other fun
gear to help them pretend
they really camping in the
great outdoors!

will be learning and talking
