Biomes are geographical areas classified by the plants and animals that live in it. Learn more about these geographic regions and the animals and plants that define them. Biome Ambassadors – See a Spider Monkey and hop too with a kangaroo at 11 am and 1pm. Meet 8 animals from around the globe to learn about the rd biomes that they inhabit. View the entries of the 3 Annual Recycled Animal Craft Contest. CNC’s Celebrity Box Turtle will be on hand to award the winners at Noon and to meet all the participants and CNC visitors. For entry information, visit the Nature Exchange Page on CNC’s website. Build Your Own Biome - Forests, deserts and grasslands- Oh MY! Select the plants, animals and habitats to make it unique from Noon – 2pm. At 1pm enjoy Story Time with Miss Julia who will delve into the intrigue of the rainforest as we explore the animals, beauty and complexity of its layers. At 2pm enjoy a Super Sized Creature Feature with indigenous snakes, turtles and raptors and learn all about the biome that we call home. . Night Hike Saturday, August 3, 8:00 – 10:00pm There is still time to have a night-time adventure at CNC before summer ends! Join a naturalist on an outdoor journey to explore the woodlands or wetlands of CNC, visit with one of our non-releasable nocturnal animals and end the evening with time around the campfire roasting marshmallows. All Ages, $10 General Public/$7 CNC Members STARLAB Sunday, August 18, 1:00 - 2:00pm (Two 25 minute sessions), Stay cool at CNC and learn the stars and constellations in the August night sky as you journey into STARLAB, our portable planetarium. Don Stewart with the Georgia Nature Photography Association will share photos from his travels and offer practical information on how to get that perfect sunset or capture photos of elusive wildlife.
