STAR Brown 6 This is a good all around cone 6 clay body which is great for wheel throwing,
hand building and slab work. The color is a rich medium brown when fired to cone 6.

STAR Red 6
This cone 6 clay body is best for wheel throwing and hand building. It is not as suitable for slab
work. Local red clay gives this clay body a rich red brown color when fired to cone 6. Cone
5-6, Average Shrinkage at cone 6 OX = 13.3%, Average Water Absorption
at cone 6 OX = 1.36%, Contains 3% Fine Mullite
STAR White 6
This is a good all around cone 6 clay body that can be used for wheel throwing, hand building
and slab work. The color is a buff white when fired to cone 6.

New Seagrove 10
The Michfield Clay is a very unique clay that has been used by potters in the Seagrove area
for a long time, probably because of the abundance of silica in the clay. The New Seagrove 10
clay body has a good amount of Michfield clay in it, so it is well suited for salt firing, where it
produces a beautiful orange peel effect on the salt fired clay surface. This clay is also the most
refractory STARworks clay body, so it needs to be fired long and hot. Cone 10-12, Average

STAR White 10
This clay body is an excellent all-around stoneware body great for throwing, hand building and
slab work. It works very well in gas reduction, wood and salt firings. The color is white to grayish

STAR White10 Coarse
This is a coarser version of STAR White 10. It contains three different sizes of Mullite and
Kyanite to give this clay body better workability and strength. It is a wonderful high-temperature
stoneware clay body for larger scale work and slab work. It also is an excellent clay body for

Okeewemee 10
This is a great all around stoneware clay body. Okeewemee is a Native American name which
means land between two rivers. The name refers to the place of origin for the red NC clay used
in this clay body. Please note, the maximum firing temperature for this clay body is cone 10.

Okee Medium 10
This clay body is a coarser version of Okeewemee 10. A good all around high temperature
stoneware clay with native NC red clay added for color. It has four different mesh sizes of
Mullite and Kyanite, which aids in the clay's workability.. It is a great clay for larger work and
lends itself well to coil building. This clay body works very well in wood or salt kilns. Cone

Grogeewemee 10
This is the coarsest clay we make. It is based on OkeeMedium 10 with added coarse grog.
Perfect for larger scale coil building and slab work. The Grogeewemee 10 clay body works very

Wild Clay Series
East Fork Red
Park of our Wild Clay Series, East Fork Red is 99% North Carolina clays/feldspars. This is a
smooth, high temperature stoneware clay body that was developed in conjunction with East
Fork Pottery, specifically to fire in a cone 10 gas reduction kiln. It is made with the wonderful
wild clays found in NC and fires to a beautiful orange/red color in moderate reduction. The East
Fork Red is great for wheel throwing, hand building and slab work. Cone 9-10, Average

New Catawba 10
Part of our Wild Clay Series, New Catawba 10 is 99% North Carolina clays/feldspars. This
high temperature stoneware clay body is made primarily with wild clay that comes from the
Catawba Valley of North Carolina. This wild clay has very unique properties that make it
wonderful to work with on the potters wheel, and it is also great for hand building and slab work.
It is very well suited for glazed pottery, as seen in many historical Catawba Valley pots. Pots
made from this clay body should be dried slowly because the clay retains moisture for a longer
