MENSAHE
Ang likas na kaanyuang panlipunan at pangkabuhayan ng BARANGAY MALINAO IBABA,
Atimonan, Quezon ay dito matutunghayan. Para sa taong 2011 ay naisakatuparan ito dahilan sa
ibayong pagsisikap ng Sangguniang Barangay ng Barangay Malinao Ibaba sa pangunguna ng iyong
lingkod OSCAR M. ALMEYDA, Punong Barangay, Barangay Development Council, Non-Governmental
Organizations at sa masusing pagsubaybay ng kinatawan ng Department of Interior and Local
Government (DILG). Ang ginamit sa astadistika ay katas ng panibagong sensus na inilunsad sa
barangay na ginampanan ng mga Kagawad ng bawa’t distrito, mga kasapi sa iba’t ibang samahan sa
barangay at mga taong tumulong sa mga impormasyon ukol sa ating plano tungo sa kaunlaran ng
ating barangay sa darating na panahon.
Inaasahan naming na ang mga nilalaman ng SOCIO ECONOMIC PROFILE na ito ng Barangay
Malinao Ibaba ay makapagbibigay ng mga impormasyong makakatulong sa pagpaplano ng kaunlaran
hindi lamang sa barangay na ito kung hindi sa bayan ng Atimonan at maging sa lalawigan ng Quezon.
Ninanais din sa munting gawain ito na maging gabay sa iba pang mga barangay sa kanilang
adhikaing mapaunlad ang kani-kanilang mga barangay sa pamamagitan ng masusing pag-aaral at
pagpaplano upang magkaroon ng implementasyon ang mga nakaplano sa tulong ng mga mamamayan,
pamahalaang local, probinsyal at maging ang pamahalaang nasyonal.
Ipinaaabot din ang taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga mamamayan ng Barangay
Malinao Ibaba sa pagbibigay ng mga kinakailangang impormasyon sa mga tanong ng bawat Kagawad
ng Distrito, na buong katapatang inilahad nila ang katayuan ng kanilang pamumuhay at kuro-kuro
tungkol sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon ng barangay. Pasasalamat din ang ipinaabot sa lahat ng
tumulong upang maisakatuparan ang pagkakaroon ng “Socio-Economic Profile” na ito. At layunin
(mission) – Pandayin ang angking galing ng nagkakaisang pamayanang adhika’iy lalong palawigan
ang organikong pagbubukid habang nagpapayabong ng kabundukan at gumagalaw sa pagpapaunlad
ng turismo at kulturang salamin ng ugnayang mamamayang nagkakabuklod-buklod sa mga aksyon
may pagtalima sa tamang kalikasan. Ang aming Pananaw o (Vision) – Mamamayang aktibong

MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

Mamamayang aktibong lumilikha ng isang luntian, may
nagkakaisang diwa, asensado, organisado’t wagas na
itinataguyod ang kultura’t turismo ng nayong kilala bilang
sangktwaryo ng kapayapaan.
MISSION
Pandayin ang angking galing ng nagkakaisang pamayanang
adhika’iy lalong palawigin ang organikong pagbubukid
habang nagpapayabong ng kabuhayan at gumagalaw sa
pagpapaunlad ng turismo at kulturang salamin ng ugnayang
mamamayang nagkakabuklod-buklod sa mga aksyon may
pagtalima sa tamang kalikasan.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY MALINAO IBABA
Ang nayon ng Malinao Ibaba ay bahagi ng isang nayon na pinagdalawa. Ito
ay binubuo ng isang malawak na bukirin sa bahaging malapit sa bayan.
Ang pook na ito ay kinilala sa ganitong pangalan dahil sa malinis at
malinaw na tubig na bumubukal sa mga ilog at batis sa may paanan ng
magkaugnay na Bundok Balanga at Bundok ng Inihang Dalaga.
Ang baryo ng Malinao ay mahaba at makitid, ito ay pinagdalawa noong
1912. ito ay hinati sa dahilang hindi na marinig ang tambuli kapag panahon ng
pagpupulong
sa
kanayunan.

pagkakaunawaan ng palahudyatan. Noong ito ay nagdalawa na, ang dakong ilaya
ay tinawag na Malinao Ilaya at ang dakong ibaba ay tinawag na Malinao Ibaba.
Ang talaan ng mga pamilyang unang nagsipanirahan dito ay ang mga
sumusunod: pamilya Campomanes, Almeyda, Lavides, Tandas, Lasquety, Villareal,
Devilles, Villacarlos, Pasamba, Espinosa, Verdan, Nera, Marquez, Espine, Amerika,
Centeno, Inal, Marasigan, Ortiz, Andaya, at Garin.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Barangay Malinao Ibaba is one of the inner barangays of Atimonan, located about 8
kilometers away from town’s poblacion. It is located along the National Highway bounded on the
north by Barangay Sta. Catalina, on the south by Barangay Sapaan, on the East by Barangay
Tinandog and on the west by Barangay Magsaysay.
It has a total land area of 554.8669 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office
composed of six sitios- Sitio Central, Sitio Balite, Sitio Fuji, Sitio Sulok, Sitio Lagyo and Sitio Ulong. Topography of the barangay is mostly mountainous to hilly and plain on the other side.

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Malinao Ibaba had a population
of 1682 computed population growth rate of 1.59%. There are more female than male, with age
distribution revealing 73.30% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 17.84%
under 1 year old to 9 years old and 8.86% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that
Barangay Angeles has a working population and low dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at
37.16% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Iglesia ni
Cristo.

81.04% or 449.6436 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops
are copra, rice and variety of fruits and vegetables. Their total irrigated area is 12 hectares.
Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for additional source of income.
