Are all efficiencies created equal?
Unfortunately, no. Many manufacturers, including
Harsco, certify boiler efficiency using third party
testing standards. However, test conditions rarely
occur during normal operation. To truly compare
one boiler’s efficiency to another, it is important to
consider normal operating conditions. The charts
shown in this brochure illustrate the efficiency you
can expect under real world conditions. Efficiencies
shown are thermal efficiencies (input vs. output
using a flow rate corresponding to 40°∆T at
full output.

It’s all about system design.
Purchasing a high efficiency condensing boiler is
just the beginning. Condensing boilers that operate
above 120°F return water temperature do not
condense. Therefore, to truly take advantage of
a condensing boiler’s efficiency benefits, such
as significant fuel savings, the system must be
designed with a return water temperature of 120°F
or less. Harsco customers have saved 25% or more
on fuel costs with MACH® condensing boilers.
