Fundraising will begin on
Tuesday! Your child will receive
a form & letter explaining how
much money they will earn. If
you do not receive one,
please e-mail Mrs. Comen and
she will send one home.
Announcements:



Studio Art started this week for some. All
students were accepted, but some will not
start until November – Congratulations to
all!
Ukulele Club auditions will be on Tuesday,
September 6th at 1:50.
Reminder that 5th grade’s AR policy is 18
points & 80% accuracy. We will be looking
at points next weeks since Tuesday is the 6
point mark  Please encourage your
children to read!
Math: We will begin Chapter 2 on Tuesday with
Prime Factorization. We have reviewed divisibility
rules & prime vs. composite numbers to help us.
Social Studies: We have started Chpater 3 –
Westward Expansion. There will not be study guides
to go with each lesson. The students are expected
to read the lessons and pay close attention in class.
USA Weekly # 6 is due on Thursday – Handout &
Crossword Puzzle this time.
Science: We will take our test on Scientific
Investigations on Tuesday. Please spend some time
reviewing the study guide in the binder. We will
begin our next unit, Landforms. It will cover lots of
geology, but mostly erosion and weathering.
ELA: DOL Week 3 should be done. There will be
more practice on the 4 kinds of sentences and
identifying simple and compound sentences. Please
study pages 1-4 in the Grammar workbook for a quiz
on Wednesday. I will also send home some
handouts. Roots- Study Lesson 2 for a quiz on
Thursday. Writing- We will continue working on
writing the perfect paragraph.
Mrs. Stanley will not be here on
Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Her
sub will be Mrs. Daniels. She is great
and very knowledgeable! If you have
