Home and School Minutes: December
January 19, 2017

Call to order at 6:35
Krista motioned to approve the minutes from December. Nancy 2nd the motion. Minutes were
approved.
President’s report:
 Tickets sales at the Christmas Concert did much better than at Parent Teacher. We will continue
to do this in future years.
Treasurer’s Report:
 New balance is $5680.97 with no outstanding bills to be paid.
 Possible upcoming expenses may be Teacher appreciation and Teacher requests.
Principal’s Report:
 Mrs. Jardine thanked everyone for their help with the Christmas Families. It is very much
appreciated by those families.
 No teacher requests
Other Business:
 Breakfast program: The kids are very much enjoying the homemade muffins. The volunteers will
be baking on Saturday. There is a spot for supplies to be kept at the middle school. The
possibility of doing an ingredient collection was discussed and will likely take place before the
next baking session.
 Coffee Survey: A deadline for feedback was put as February 2, 2017.
 Family Game Night: It was decided that we would host the Family Game Night February 17 from
6:30-7:30. There will be no charge to come play however, Home and School will have a
concession stand selling Ice Cream and Water as a fundraiser. Due to the fact that this is a new



fundraiser and we are unsure how many families would attend it was decided to send out
invitations and ask parents to RSVP by February 10th.
Staff Appreciation: February 13-17th is Staff appreciation. To show our appreciation for all the
hard work of the staff at DATL the Home and School would like to organize treats to be sent to
the school. Sarah will organize the treats being delivered throughout the week and Dorothy will
bake a meal that the staff can enjoy of Friday. Emily will take care of getting something ready to
give to the bus drivers.
Spring Clean Fundraiser: The spring clean fundraiser from last year was discussed. It was said
that the fundraiser last year didn’t make as much money as was anticipated. This year Home
and School is thinking of organizing a yard sale and then donating what is left. The idea of having
the yard sale at the school during the town wide yard sale was discussed.
Emily Motioned to change the date of the next meeting to February 9th, 2017 in order to finish
any final preparations for the Family Game Night. Alex 2nd the motion. All in favor. Motion
passed.
