Nature Therapy: Health is Right Outside Your Door
Kate Trnka is the author of "If These Trees Could Talk, Park 1" and offers workshops and retreats on
Nature Therapy. Nature Therapy is all about using nature - which is free and ever-present - as a source to
help us reconnect with our natural selves and restoring our well-being as a result.
Gardening Options for Home Gardeners
Strawbale gardening, as well as containers on the deck, are ways to grow your own organic vegetables.
Learn how to implement these methods from start to finish in order to enjoy this year's harvest.
Benefits of Yoga & Breath:
The joining of breath and movement = Yoga. We all know how to move, but adding breath to proper
movements is so beneficial for your mind and body. Benefits of doing yoga, a few of the most popular
poses and their modifications as well as why breath helps will be discussed.
Plant Natives to Support Pollinators
We depend in many ways on pollinators, yet many of them are in decline. One way to support
pollinators is by incorporating native plants into the landscape. This presentation will elaborate on the
benefits of native plants to pollinators, and provide some ideas for planting native plants in our gardens
and surroundings. The results can be beautiful, along with adding many benefits for pollinators and other
important organisms.
Making Green Juice and Smoothies With Your Garden Harvest
There has been a lot of talk lately about the health benefits of drinking homemade juice and smoothies.
Leafy greens such as kale and spinach are among the most nutrient rich foods available. Pair them up
with some fruit and you have a nutritious and filling beverage without the “green” taste. We’ll discuss
the difference between juicing and smoothie making, the equipment used (blender versus juicer), and
sample some awesome recipes.
